Omar Courtz, born Joshua Omar Medina Cortés in 1997 in Carolina, Puerto Rico, is a singer who performs in the Latin urban music scene. He got his start working at a clothing store popular with reggaeton stars, where he connected with artists like Farruko and Ozuna, who would later influence his career. In 2017, Omar Courtz debuted with "Volvemos Otra Vez" on SoundCloud, quickly gaining local recognition. Balancing his music with a degree in mechanical engineering, he saw success with tracks like the viral "En Tu Nota" during the 2020 quarantine, which led to a deal with Pitbull's label, Mr. 305. Omar Courtz has collaborated with major names like Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, Farruko, and J Balvin, with his track "Ten Cuidado" featuring on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart in 2021. His impressive rise in the industry earned him a spot in TikTok's 2023 Elevate program and nominations for awards such as the Premios Tu Música Urbano and Premio Lo Nuestro for Top New Male Artist. Performing at major events like the Latin American Music Awards and Premios Juventud, Omar Courtz quickly became one of Latin music's most exciting new talents. Primera Musa, his debut album, was released in 2024 and featured some of the biggest artists in the Latin urban music scene, including Kendo Kaponi, Dei V, Luar la L, Bryant Myers, Rauw Alejandro, De La Rose, and Anuel AA.
