The Jamaican singer Omar Samuel Pasley, better known by his stage name OMI, was born on September 3, 1986 in the parish of Clarendon. His first single "Standing On All Threes" was released in 2012, while OMI composed his future hit "Cheerleader" in 2008 and also released it in 2012. The song was re-released in 2014 as a dance track in a remix by Felix Jaehn. The remix initially became a big hit in Sweden, eventually going 5-times platinum, and soon after also charting in other European charts, including France, Italy and Germany. In the United States, the song reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2015. On October 16, 2015, he finally released his first studio album Me 4 U, which reached the charts in Australia, Canada, France and America. Further singles and collaborations followed, such as "Jambo" with Takagi & Ketra and Giusy Ferreri in 2018 and "Don't Stop" with Dj.Frodo and Richie Stephens in 2022.
