Oscar Zia

Swedish pop singer-songwriter and actor Oscar Zia was born on October 10, 1996, in Svedala. He first rose to national fame in 2012 as a contestant on the Swedish version of the reality competition show X Factor, where he finished eighth. He also participated in the 2013 Melodifestivalen, providing backing vocals for the song "Jalla Dansa Sawa." Despite not making it to the finals, the song gained popularity. That same year, he competed in Let's Dance, ending up as the runner-up. His breakthrough came in 2014 when he returned to Melodifestivalen, this time with his solo single "Yes We Can," finishing eighth in the final. He released his debut studio album, I Don't Know How to Dance, in 2014. The album was a huge success, peaking at number 3 on the Swedish Albums Chart. In 2016, he returned to Melodifestivalen once more with the song "Human," winning the jury vote and finishing as the overall runner-up. Oscar Zia's career took a new turn in 2018 with the release of his EP Din, which featured successful singles like "Kyss Mig I Slo-mo" and "Betong." He co-hosted the 2021 Melodifestivalen alongside Christer Björkman and Anis Don Demina, later hosting the entire competition in 2022. He also expanded his resume by making his acting debut in the Viaplay series Cryptid in 2020. In 2023, Oscar Zia released his second full-length album Heartbreakmiljonär, featuring the single "Nu," which made it to number 43 on the SverigesRadio Top 50.
