R&B and zouk singer Oswald, born Oswald Clerveus on May 19, 1989, hails from the north of the island of Saint-Martin, a French overseas collectivity. He was thirteen when his parents died and he was taken in by a foster family. Already drawn to music, he wrote his first songs and in 2007 won a young talent contest in Guadeloupe, followed by a concert with West Indian stars such as Tanya Saint-Val and Dominik Coco. He produced his first demo , "My Life", in an R&B style, which brought him to the attention of Michel Mado, who invited him to appear on his album Dédicace, before releasing his first singles, including the duet "Ton absence", with Misty Jean. From then on, success followed success, with "I Need Your Body" in 2011, then the debut album Oswald the same year, followed by tours of France, Canada, the Indian Ocean islands and across Asia. After collaborating with the group 5LAN on "Body to Body " in 2012, he embarked on a U.S. tour and joined the band for several years. Returning to solo work under his own name in 2017, he released several tracks, culminating in the album Option (2021), followed by a tour that resulted in Oswald (Live), released in 2022. In 2024, Oswald released the album Oxygen, from which several songs were taken, including the hit "Pedi kontwol", which reached No. 22 in the overseas charts.
