Oxlade is a Nigerian artist celebrated internationally for his rhythmic combination of Afro-fusion, pop, and R&B. He was born Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman on 22 April 1997, in Surulere, Lagos. "Away," his debut single, was released in 2020 and became a critically acclaimed track worldwide, with multiple publications listing the song as one of the year's best tracks. In Nigeria, "Away" was also a genuine hit, reaching number 23 on the Nigerian charts and later appearing on the artist's debut EP, Oxygene. In 2021, Oxlade returned to the charts as both a solo artist and a collaborator, reaching Number 13 with the single "Ojuju" before charting even higher with "Kolo," which found him sharing the spotlight with Nigerian rapper Ice Prince. His second solo record, Eclipse, was released that summer. Nominated for Best New Artist at the African Entertainment Awards USA in late 2021, Oxlade expanded his global audience with 2022's "Want You," which reached Number 47 on the newly-established Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart and Number 18 on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart. "Ku Lo Sa - A Colors Show" followed later that summer and went viral, cracking charts all over the world, including the UK, the Netherlands, and Canada. In September 2024, he welcomed the release of his full-length album, OFA – Oxlade From Africa, which yielded the singles "Intoxycated," featuring UK rap mainstay Dave, and "Ovami" with Flavour.
