Peka

Peka Tala Hermann was born in 1994 in Nlonako (now Ébonè), a commune in western Cameroon. Influenced by his father, a pastor, the young Cameroonian was brought into contact with music through religion and gospel singing. Arriving in Douala at the age of 14, he joined The Living Stones, where his musical practice took a turning point. He won the Musical Revelation of the Year awards at the 2014 Gospel Music Awards, then the Creativ Talent competition in 2016, and entered The Voice Afrique Francophone in 2017. After reaching the quarter-finals, Peka (his stage name) took the opportunity to launch his solo career with a more R'n'B approach. Working with Constellation Music Entertainment and Hope Music Group, he first made a name for himself on several cover versions, in particular "Jamais jamais" (2018) and "Belinda " (2019). In 2020, he released his first official single, "Angelina", heavily influenced by R'n'B and Afropop. He performed live the following year, then returned to gospel for a track with Mr. Leo, "Amen " (2021). With "If" (2021) and then "C'est elle" (2022), Peka asserts his style and perfects his songwriting skills, in anticipation of unveiling a more substantial musical project.
