Peter Plate is a German singer, music producer and composer. He was born on July 1, 1967 in New Delhi, India as the son of a diplomat, grew up in Germany and became known as a member of the music duo Rosenstolz. After moving to Berlin and working as a hairdresser, he founded the duo Rosenstolz together with singer AnNa R. in 1991. Their album Gib mir Sonne reached number 1 in the German album charts in 2008. In addition to his work for Rosenstolz, he has also performed as a composer for other artists, such as Jasmin Wagner, Victoria Faiella and the duo 2raumwohnung. His first solo album Schüchtern ist mein Glück was released by Universal in 2013. The following year, he wrote the music for the movie Bibi and Tina . Together with Ulf Leo Sommer, he wrote the two successful hits "Unser Tag" and "In diesen Nächten" for Helene Fischer. He also helped the singer Sarah Connor to a platinum album in 2014. He has been working as a producer and lyricist for Maxine Kazis since 2016. 2018 saw the release of another Rosenstolz album, Lass es Liebe sein - Die schönsten Lieder . in 2020, he produced the album Ander ist gut for the singer Michelle, again together with Ulf Leo Sommer. He has already won five Echos for his musical work, including Best Group for Rosenstolz in 2012, as well as the Golden Tuning Fork six times.
