Pierre Barouh

Author, composer, performer, producer, label founder and also director and actor, Pierre Barouh touched on a wide spectrum of artistic life. the "king of slow bizz", born Elie Barouh on February 19, 1934 and deceased at the age of 82 on December 28, 2016, enjoyed immediate success thanks to the songs in the film Un homme et une femme (Palme d'or at the Cannes Film Festival, 1966), in which he starred, which enabled him to invest in creating the Saravah label, with the slogan "There are years when you feel like doing nothing". Importing bossa nova to France ("Samba Saravah"), he introduced Jacques Higelin, Bigitte Fontaine, Areski Belkacem and Maurane to the French music scene. The man who wrote a few hits for others, such as "Des ronds dans l'eau " for Françoise Hardy and "La Bicyclette" for Yves Montand, also produced his own albums, and wrote the music for his own film Le Divorcement (1979). The compilations Les Années Disc'AZ (2008) and 60 Ans de Chansons à des Titres Divers (2010) retrace his musical career.
