In the summer of 1993, the Languedociens of Regg'Lyss invited France to anoint itself with reggae, and "Mets de l'huile" unexpectedly scored a number-one hit. Formed in 1989 in Montpellier (Héraut), the group did not capitalize on this success with the album Vive les Gestes the same year, nor on the "jamadoc" concept developed with El Gusanillo in 1995. The band broke up shortly after the release of Le Monde Tourne in 1997.
