Zebda

"Tomber la chemise", the anthem of discotheques and campsites, was Zebda's breakthrough in 1999. The band, originally from Toulouse, had to roll up their sleeves before reaching No. 1 in the Top 50. Its story is emblematic of the citizen movements generated by the "quartiers", the "cités", as it is above all the saga of a band of mixed-race "pals" who don't have their tongues in their pockets and intend to make it known. After Essence Ordinaire (1998) and Utopie d'Occase (2002), Zebda wrapped up their career in 2003 with the live album La Tawa. In 2012, the trio, separated for seven years, got back on track with Second Tour, followed by Comme des Cherokees, released two years later.
