Roxen is a stage name of a Romanian pop singer Larisa Roxana Giurgiu. Born in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) on January 5th, 2000, Roxen showed her passion for music at the age of 7 when she started to take piano and singing lessons. Her first recognition came in 2019, with the track "You Don’t Love Me" featuring a Romanian producer Sickotoy. The song reached number three in Romanian charts and received airplay in France, Spain, Russia, and the USA. The same year, Roxen released her first solo single "Ce-ți Cântă Dragostea" ("What’s Love Singing to You?") which topped the charts making it to the number one position in Romania. In 2020, she was selected as a country's representative for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Her track "Alcohol You" won the national final. In October 2020, the singer released a single "Spune-mi" ("Tell Me") which became her second number-one hit. After the cancellation of the European Song Contest 2020 due to the pandemic, Roxen was selected for the 2021 context with the song "Amnesia" but didn’t make it to the final during the competition. Roxen is often being compared to Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish though she herself considers Beyoncé her major inspiration.
