SE SO NEON

Se So Neon is a South Korean indie rock band formed in 2016, known for their unique sound that blends elements of psychedelic rock, blues, and funk. The band was founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Hwang So-yoon, with the name "Se So Neon" meaning "New Youngsters," inspired by an old children's magazine. Initially, the band included bassist Fancy Moon and drummer Gangto, but both members left in 2019, leaving Hwang as the sole original member. Se So Neon gained recognition in 2017 with the release of their debut EP Summer Plumage, which showcased their dreamy and nostalgic sound. The band won the "Rookie of the Year" award at the Korean Music Awards in 2018, solidifying their position as one of the leading acts in the indie scene. Despite lineup changes, Se So Neon continued to release music, with their 2020 EP Nonadaptation further showcasing their evolving sound. Hwang So-yoon, as the driving force behind the band, has also pursued solo work, but Se So Neon remains an influential name in the Korean indie rock scene, known for their genre-bending style and innovative music.
