Sista Becky, real name Rebecca Kalonji, is a Congolese rapper, songwriter and dancer born in Kinshasa in the 1990s. Influenced by French rap, notably Diam's, she began to make a name for herself in the Congolese hip-hop scene in the 2000s, performing freestyles during her school years. She came to prominence in 2016 with her first single"Mr Rap", which propelled her onto the music scene. The track won her the prize for best female artist in Congolese hip-hop at the Rap de Kin Awards. In 2017, she took part in a major concert against AIDS and violence against young people in Kinshasa, in collaboration with NGOs. She also founded the Kinshasound studio and pursued her career with hit singles such as Il fait semblant, played in clubs across French-speaking Africa. In 2021, she released her debut album Apéritif, featuring collaborations with Gally Garvey and DjP2n.
