Six Feet Under was started in 1993 by Cannibal Corpse singer Chris Barnes and Obituary guitarist Allen West as a side project. The band subsequently developed into one of the most important death metal bands in the USA. Six Feet Under became a real band in 1995 when Chris Barnes left Cannibal Corpse. Guitarist Allen West was replaced by Steve Swanson in 1998. This group is responsible for nine albums, of which Haunted (1995), Warpath (1997), Double Dead (2002) and Graveyard Classics 3 (2010) are the most haunting. Undead from 2012 continues the gore metal vein that perfectly suits Six Feet Under. Unborn in 2013 is no exception. Crypt of the Devil (2015) and Torment (2017) climb into the top 50 in Germany. After Unburied (2018), the band reaches number 35 in the German album charts with Nightmares of the Decomposed in 2020. Four years later, Six Feet Under released a new studio album, Killing for Revenge. The longplayer enters at number 74 in Germany.
