Sofia Daccarett Char, aka Sofia Carson, is a dance-pop singer and actress known for her role as Evie in the Disney Channel's 'Descendants' TV movie franchise. Carson was born in 1993 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. By the age of three she was taking dance lessons and at eight she starred in a stage production of 'Wizard of Oz' as Dorothy. A year later she studied performing arts in a summer program put on by the University of Miami, continuing to train her voice and learn dance through high school. Carson broke into TV with her role as Chelsea on the Disney Channel show 'Austin & Ally' in 2014 and a year later took on the role that made her famous in the first 'Descendants' film, also appearing on the chart-topping soundtrack. In 2016 she made her solo pop debut with 'Love Is the Name' featuring J Balvin. 'Descendants 2' followed a year later, with another round of songs from Carson on its soundtrack. In 2018 she was featured on DJ Alan Walker's 'Different World'. 2019 marked the release of 'Descendants 3' as well as Carson being named the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation's first global ambassador.
