Swings is the stage name of South Korean rapper Moon Ji-hoon. Born on October 14, 1986, he released his debut EP, Upgrade, in 2008, then joined the longstanding Korean hip-hop group Uptown one year later. Swings' time in the group proved to be short, with the rapper returning to his solo career following the release of Uptown's New Era in 2009. Growing Pains, his debut LP, arrived in 2010, followed by Upgrade II in 2011. He starred in the rap-themed TV competition Show Me The Money in 2013, utilizing the show as a springboard for his own career. A number of Top 40 hits on South Korean's Gaon chart followed, including the Number 28 single "Would You," the Number 9 smash "A Real Lady," and the Number 23 hit "Fallin'," all of which were released in 2013. The following year proved to be equally successful. "Her Number," a track from 2014's Mood Swings II Part. 2: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, climbed to Number 9, followed by the Top 40 singles "Gravity," "Pool Party," and "Trap." Swings also earned a Number 4 hit with "A Real Man," recorded alongside K-pop singer Ailee. He continued releasing studio albums, mixtapes, and EPs during the remainder of the decade, while also participating in multiple seasons of Show Me The Money as a judge, producer, and occasional contestant. "Not Enough," a song that appeared in the premiere episode of Show Me The Money's eighth season, charted at Number 37 in 2019, followed in 2021 by the radio single "Villain."
