Best known for Number 1 hits like "Osaekirenai Kono Kimochi" and "Setsunasa wo Keseyashinai," T-Bolan is a Japanese rock band that formed in 1991. Vocalist Arashi Moritomo, drummer Kazuyoshi Aoki, guitarist Takeshi Gomi, and bassist Hirofumi Ueno released their debut single, "Kanashimi ga Itai yo," that same summer, reaching number 46 on the Oricon Singles chart and paving the way for the 15 consecutive Top 40 hits that followed. "Kanashimi ga Itai yo" also appeared on T-Bolan's debut studio album, the self-titled T-Bolan. By the following spring, the band had begun to release material from a second record, Baby Blue, which hit stores in April 1992 and reached number 4 on the Oricon chart. "Just Illusion," the album's biggest hit, climbed to number 22. A third album, So Bad, was released during November 1992 and was followed by more hit songs, including the back-to-back number 2 singles "Jirettai Ai" and "Bye For Now." Heart of Stone's "Osaekirenai Kono Kimochi" became the band's first Number 1 hit on the singles chart, with the album itself also reaching Number 1 in 1993. By that summer, T-Bolan had reached the Number 1 spot on the Oricon Singles chart with a second song, "Setsunasa wo Keseyashinai." Three consecutive singles — "Wagamama ni Dakiaetanara," "Love," and "Maria" — all hit number 3 during the next 12 months, with "Ai no Tame ni Ai no Naka de" peaking at number 2 in November 1995. Many of these hits appeared on the compilation album Singles, which was released in 1996 and became the band's second Number 1 album. After the band's temporary split in 1999, a long hiatus followed, broken by several reunion tours as well as a comeback album, Ai no Bakudan=Cherish: Einstein kara no Dengen, in 2022. Another greatest hits collection, Complete Singles, reached number 26 on the Japanese charts one year later.
