Previously known as "Dying Dream," The Ghost Inside is a California-based metalcore band fronted by longtime vocalist Jonathan Vigil. The band formed in El Segundo, a suburb of Los Angeles, in 2004. One year later, they released the debut EP Now or Never under their original name, then rebranded themselves as The Ghost Inside in time for the release of their full-length debut, Fury and the Fallen Ones, in 2008. Two years later, Returners marked their second release. The band reached the Billboard chart for the first time with 2012's What What You Give, which peaked at number 88 on the Billboard 200, number 8 on Top Hard Rock Albums, and number 26 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums chart. Despite ongoing personnel changes that would soon make Vigil that only original member to remain in the lineup, The Ghost Inside continued to enjoy commercial success with records like 2014's Dear Youth, which reached number 63 on the Billboard 200, and 2020's self-titled The Ghost Inside, which hit the Top 10 in both Australia and Germany. Searching For Solace followed in 2024, earning the band a hit on the Top 40 Radio Mainstream Rock Songs chart in America with the album's lead single, "Wash It Away." The song peaked at number 30 that spring, while the album itself reached number 57 in Germany.
