The Aussie quartet of Dougy Mandagi, Jonathon Aherne, Lorenzo Sillitto and Toby Dundas (aka Temper Trap) set out to deliver a thrusting guitar sound and climactic choruses, inspired by a range of eclectic influences from U2 to Prince. Originally a hit in their local area of Melbourne, the band knocked out a debut EP in 2006 that helped establish their credentials across Australia and abroad. A line-up of high profile appearances at the likes of Musexpo and South by Southwest followed, giving further prominence to the band and attracting a big fanbase. They released their debut album, Conditions, in 2009 in Australia and the UK, ably assisted by veteran British producer Jim Abbiss who had also seen success with the Arctic Monkeys. The album featured hit single Sweet Disposition, which hit Number 6 in the UK chart and scooped the band several awards back in its native Australia. Keen to establish themselves internationally, the group moved to London in 2009 and have been touring with huge success across Europe, Australia and North America.
