The Washboard Union

The Washboard Union is a Juno Award-winning country band from Canada, where songs like "Shot of Glory," "Maybe It's the Moonshine," "Country Thunder," "Dock Rock," and "Shine" have all become Top 10 hits on the Canada Country chart. The group formed in 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Bandmates David John Roberts, Aaron Grain, and Chris Duncombe first performed together under the name "Run GMC" before rebranding themselves with their self-titled debut album, The Washboard Union, in 2012. The group then signed with Warner Music Canada and returned in 2015 with an EP, In My Bones, which featured hit songs like "Some Day," "Maybe It's the Moonshine," and "Head Over Heels." The record's biggest success was "Shot Of Glory," a platinum-certified smash that reached number 5 on the Canada Country chart and helped The Washboard Union win "Roots Canadiana of the Year" at the British Columbia Country Music Association Awards. Another album, What We're Made Of, followed in 2018, featuring the country hits "Shine" (number 9 on the Canadian charts) and "Feel Like That" (number 11). The Washboard Union's third album, Everbound, was released in 2020 and included three consecutive gold-selling singles: "She Gets Me," "Country Thunder" (which charted at number 2 in Canada, a career-high placement for the band), and "Dock Rock." After signing with Universal Music Canada, the group began releasing new singles in 2023, including "I Run On Country" (number 14 on Canada Country) and "Gather Round" (number 53).
