In business since 1989, the Italian band Tiromancino was created by singer, songwriter and guitarist Federico Zampaglione (born in Rome in 1968). Initially named Tiromancyno, under which a debut album was released in 1992, the group was renamed Tiromancino and went on to record the albums Insisto (1994), Alone Alieno (1995), Rosa Spinto (1997) and La Descrizione di un Attimo (2000), with the leader's brother Francesco Zampaglione (keyboards, programming) and Laura Arzilli (bass). The band's music then took an electronic turn under the influence of the trip-hop wave, notably with the arrival of keyboardist and singer Riccardo Sinigallia for the latest, including the song "Strade", performed at the Sanremo festival. In 2001, the band was reduced to a duo with Andrea Pesce on keyboards, before expanding with the addition of Luigi Pulcinelli on samples until 2006. Returning to Sanremo in 2008, Tiromancino presented the song "Il rubacuori" and recorded the album L'Essenziale (2010) between Rome and Los Angeles, with American studio musicians. In 2014, the release of the album Indagine su un sentimento, recorded with new musicians Antonio Marcucci (guitar), Francesco Stoia (bass) and Marco Pisanelli (drums), is followed by the death of former member Luigi Pulcinelli, on October 18, 2014, at the age of 40. Tiromancino returned in 2016 with Nel Respiro del Mondo, featuring new keyboardist Fabio Verdini, who joined the band. After a new version of "Due destini" with Alessandra Amoroso in 2018, the album Fino a qui is released, featuring rearranged songs performed with the likes of Elisa, Jovanotti, Biagio Antonacci, Tiziano Ferro and Fabri Fibra. In 2021, the twelfth album Ho Cambiato Tante Casa features the participation of Carmen Consoli on "L'Odore del mare". Having been Federico Zampaglione's project for several years, Tiromancino returned in 2024 with the title "Il Cielo".
