Tom Gaebel (born January 13, 1975 in Gelsenkirchen) is a singer, entertainer and bandleader from Germany. The artist grew up in a musical family. Tom Gaebel learns to play the violin. At the same time, he taught himself to play the drums and trombone. In his youth, he acted in theater, made short films and played with the school big band. At the end of the 1990s, Tom Gaebel toured China as a trombonist with the NRW Youth Jazz Orchestra. He then accompanied the Bundesjugendjazzorchester as a singer. He studied music at the Amsterdam Conservatory in Hilversum. The artist first came to public attention in 2004 with his project Tom Gaebel & Band playing Frank Sinatra. This was followed by his first TV appearances, which made Tom Gaebel even better known. In 2005, he reached number 99 in the German charts with his album Introducing: Myself. His albums include cover versions of well-known jazz and swing greats as well as his own compositions. Fans affectionately call him Dr. Swing. Tom Gaebel regularly performs at well-known festivals, including the Düsseldorf Jazz Rally, the Kemptener Jazzfrühling, Mittelrhein Musik Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival and the Jazzopen Stuttgart. In 2013, Tom Gaebel received the German Jazz Award for his album Easy Christmas. Tom Gaebel also regularly works with artists from very different musical genres, such as Xavier Naidoo, Die Fantastischen Vier and Mickie Krause. In 2023, Tom Gaebel will release another Christmas album, A Christmas to Remember.
