Toro y Moi is a representative of the style defined in 2010 as chillwave, a variation of electro pop with roots close to synth pop and ambient, as well as psychedelia. Toro y Moi, whose real name is Chazwick Bundick, has developed an artistic complicity with Washed Out, another proponent of the chillwave movement. His first album, Causers of Time, was released in 2010, followed a year later by Underneath the Pine and its strange cover. Anything in Return in 2013 continues the prodigy's quest for perfection. Toro y Moi reached the Billboard 200 for the first time with What For? in 2015.
