TREASURE

Formed in 2019 on the survival reality show YG Treasure Box, TREASURE is a Japanese-South Korean K-Pop boy band sponsored by show business powerhouse YG Entertainment. Composed of seasoned reality TV performers Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Mashiho, Jaehyuk, Asahi, Yedam, Doyoung, Haruto, Jeongwoo, and Junghwan, the group’s final lineup was the result of merging the show’s two units: Magnum and Treasure. The show’s popularity helped build a considerable buzz around the boy band, who made it to Billboard’s Social 50 chart before they had the chance to release any original material. Following the release of their sugar-coated debut single “Going Crazy,” The First Step: Chapter One (2020), their debut single album, exceeded all expectations, receiving over 170,000 pre-orders since the announcement of its release and turning the group into the best-selling South Korean newcomer artist that year. Propelled by the success of lead single “Boy,” which made it to number 89 on Billboard Japan’s Hot 100, the EP was supported by a live performance on SBS’ Inkigayo. TREASURE followed up later that year with the sequels The First Step: Chapter Two and The First Step: Chapter Three, and released their highly anticipated studio debut The First Step: Treasure Effect in early 2021. The album was yet another massive success for the group, topping the charts in both Japan and South Korea, and receiving platinum certification by the KMCA for sales of over 400,000 units. In 2022, TREASURE continued their steady ascent to pop stardom on the EPs The Second Step: Chapter One (2022) and The Second Step: Chapter Two (2022), with the former hitting the top of the Circle Chart in South Korea and the latter reaching number 2 on Japan's Oricon Albums Chart. The following year, the band scored their first-ever number 1 hit single on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 with the song "Here I Stand," specially recorded for the soundtrack of the anime film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. Reboot, the group's second full-length album, came out in 2023 and topped the charts in both South Korea and Japan. It was followed by the live album Treasure Japan Tour 2022–23 Hello Special in Kyocera Dome Osaka in December of that year. Reboot (JP Special Selection), TREASURE's first Japanese release, arrived in early 2024.
