Born on October 29, 1996 as Tidjani Abdel Chafi Akanho, VDP The Vibeboy is determined to achieve his goal of becoming a music star. VDP quickly developed a passion for writing and rap rhythms, composing his first verses in his youth. His signature on the AkkaTv Records label proved decisive for this resident of Porto-Novo in Benin. He unveiled his first freestyle, "Wojumi", on November 16, 2018. With production by Patrimoine Musik, the track uses all the traditional codes of American trap, and the Beninese's flow, in English, French or Yoruba, stands out. The artist followed this up with several tracks ("Gbé", "Didjou" or "Gbo Témi") before 2022. The year of his first major project, still with the same label, the single "I Wanna Be High" accumulated several hundred thousand views and marked a musical turning point. Increasingly attracted to Afrobeat sounds, VDP The Vibeboy maintains his rap influences and adds more vocals, on a Nag B production close to the South African amapiano phenomenon. The track's success heralded Bad Killer, the first EP in which this new universe consecrated and placed VDP The Vibeboy at the center of the Beninese music scene.
