After the astounding success of their first venture into boy band territory with VIXX, South Korean media conglomerate Jellyfish Entertainment announced the debut of a new seven-member group under the name Verivery. After competing on the 2018 survival reality show Now Verivery: Real Road Movie, band members Dongheon, Hoyoung, Minchan, Gyehyeon, Yeonho, Yongseung, and Kangmin made their official debut in early 2019 with the EP Veri-Us, which effortlessly cracked the Top 5 of the Gaon Albums Chart. This success was followed by the release of the extended play Veri-Able in April and their single album Veri-Chill in July of that year, both of which became Top 10 entries on the South Korean charts. In 2020, Verivery issued their Face It trilogy, consisting of the EPs Face Me, Face You, and Face Us. Peaking at Number 7, the latter earned them their first charting hit in the US with the hip-hop-flavored single “G.B.T.B. (Go Beyond the Barrier).” Later that year, they placed fifth on the reality show Road to Kingdom. Released in 2021, Verivery’s second single album Series 'O' Round 1: Hall found the group entering a more mature phase in their career and went to Number 4 in South Korea. Follow-up EP Series 'O' Round 2: Hole climbed all the way up to Number 2 on the local charts and set the stage for their studio debut Series 'O' Round 3: Whole in 2022. Besides reaching Number 3 on the Gaon Albums Chart, the album also featured the single "Undercover" which, despite not charting in South Korea, still managed to enter the Japanese Oricon charts at Number 12.
