Vive La Rose is the pen name of Scottish songwriter David Luximon-Herbert. Creator of the Last Night from Glasgow label, he has been producing a series of singles since 2015, as well as the EP Don't Move, Don't Speak (2018), followed by the album For She Who Hangs the Moon. Recorded in three different studios with musicians from Nick Cave, PJ Harvey and Noel Gallagher, this first opus sees him accompanied by a string orchestra, The North Up Orchestra, playing over his compositions arranged by Colin Elliot. During the Covid-19 pandemic, David Luximon moved to Perthshire and set about recording the album Duty of Care (2022), developing his taste for skilfully arranged, intimate pop. He followed this up under the Vive La Rose name with a more folk-oriented, Americana-tinged collection, A Certain Frame of Reference (2024), produced by Paul McGeechan and featuring contributions from Liz Hanks (cello), Terry Edwards (trumpet) and Olly Betts (drums).
