Real name Yasin Abdullahi Mahamoud, born in Rinkeby on January 11, 1998, Swedish rapper Yasin, also nicknamed Yasin Byn or Yasin the Don, is influenced by American gangsta rap style, which he adapts in his own way in his early recordings. After a homonymous single in 2015, the former Byn Block Entertainment member joined the Ghetto Superstars collective, with whom he recorded the album Allstars (2016). Several solo tracks and collaborations with Petter, Blizzy, Imenella, A-Keyy and Jaffar Byn followed, until his indictment in a murder case in May 2018. Yasin is detained until November, having served two-thirds of his sentence and twenty-five days of extra time for misconduct. Revealed at the beginning of 2019 by his appearance on Dree Low's track "Fram", which reached #5, he soon afterwards enjoyed his first solo success with the track "DSGIS" (#8), followed by "XO" a new duet with Dree Low, which topped the listening charts in December. At the same time, Yasin releases Handen Under Mona Lisa's Kjol (Pt. 1), his first number-one album, like its successor 98.01.11 in March 2020, featuring "Young & Heartless " (No. 3) and collaborations with Aden and Asme among all his chart-topping tracks. A few months later, his third album More to Life unveils duets with Dante Lindhe on "Canada Goose" and Mona Masrour on "Edu". A long string of hits continued over the following years, including No. 3 "20 talet" (2022) and singles from the Med E4an EP, then from the Pistoler poesi och sex album (No. 1 in 2023), including No. 2 "Har dig". Others follow in 2023, such as No. 3 "Ännu en dag" with Sickan and No. 1 "Cecilia Lind". In 2025, Yasin unveils previously unreleased tracks on the Lost Tapes compilation (no. 1), including no. 1 "Min Bitch".
