Youssoupha

Youssoupha Mabiki was born on August 29, 1979 in Kinshasa, then capital of Zaire (Democratic Republic of Congo). He arrived in France, in Béziers, at the age of 12, then moved to the Paris region, where he continued his university studies at La Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. Noticed by the Hostile label after releasing his first DVD, Éternel Recommencement, he signed his first contract and released the solo album À Chaque Frère (2007), on which he invited Diam's, Kool Shen, S'Pi & Mike Génie, followed in 2009 by Sur les Chemins du Retour. In 2012, Noir D**** was released , recording collaborations with Taipan, Corneille, S-Pi, Sam's, Indila, LFDV and even his father, Congolese rumba artist Tabu Ley Rochereau. It was followed in 2015 by the album NGRTD, nominated at the Victoires de la Musique awards in the "Urban Music Album" category, with the prize ultimately going to Nekfeu for the album Feu. Youssoupha adds a fifth album to his discography with Polaroïd Expérience (2018), succeeded in 2021 by Neptune Terminus, marked by the commercial success of the single "Kash" and featuring collaborations with Lefa, Dinos, Gaël Faye, Jos'Man and Jok'Air. That same year, his track "Écris mon nom en bleu" was associated with the French soccer team for Euro 2021. Following his comeback in 2024 with the Préliminaires EP, featuring a duet with B.B. Jacques and the single "Zequin Theory", Youssoupha set to work on his seventh album, Amour Suprême (2025), supported by the track "Dieu est grande", which reached No. 11 in the French charts.
