A rapper from Marseille, Kassim Djae made a name for himself under the pseudonym Segnor Alonzo within the Psy4 de la Rime collective, before pursuing a prolific solo career under the name Alonzo. Born on July 25, 1982 into a family of Comorian origin, he followed his cousins Soprano and Vicenzo in the group KDB, which changed its name to Psy4 de la Rime and recorded four successful albums between 2002 and 2013. In 2004, Alonzo set up his own TSE label, dedicated to discovering new talent, and produced the mixtape Un Dernier Coup d'Oeil dans le Rétroviseur (2009), which launched his solo career. Accompanied by Akhenaton, he released the album Les Temps Modernes (2010) and signed with Def Jam France for the following albums, Amour, Gloire & Beauté (2012), Règlements de Comptes (2015), ranked #2 in sales, with contributions from Booba, Maître Gim's, Lacrim and Gradur. The same year sees the release of Capo dei Capi, Volume 1, the first volume in a series of mixtapes. Alonzo's sharp, hardcore rap blends with the trap in vogue on the albums Avenue de Saint-Antoine (2016) and 100% (2017), ranked #3 and certified platinum. In 2019, the Stone album placed six tracks in the top ten, including the duet with Ninho, "C'est elle" (#2). This is followed in 2021 by the double mixtape Capo dei Capi, Vol. II & III (No. 3), led by the track "La Seleçao" (No. 2), with Jul and Naps. In 2022, he reunited with Ninho and Naps on the title track of his new album, "Tout va bien" (#1), in addition to contributions from Fayv and Skinny Flex. Alonzo's sixth album, Quartiers Nord, reaches No. 3. Honored at the Flammes and NRJ Music Awards in 2024, the rapper released the EP Le Grand Massacre de la Saint-Sylvestre the same year, followed a year later by the album Longue Vie à Nous (No. 3), featuring the hits "Couteau dans le dos" and "Scanné" and contributions from Gims, Gazo, PLK and Jul.
