French rapper and singer Kassimou Djae (July 25, 1982), aka Alonzo, started his career as a member of the French rap group Psy 4 de la Rime with DJ Sya Styles and cousins Soprano and Don Vincenzo. When the group went their separate ways, Alonzo signed for the label Def Jam France and forged a successful solo career, beginning in 2009 with the release of the mixtape Un Dernier Coup d'Oeil Dans le Rétroviseur followed by his first album Les Temps Modernes in 2010, which reached Number 7 on the French Albums Chart. This was followed by Amour, Gloire & Cité in 2012, which reached Number 9. In 2015, Alonzo issued Réglement de Comptes, which reached Number 2 on the French Albums Chart and obtained gold certification. In the same year, he also dropped a second mixtape record Capo dei Capi Vol.1, which hit Number 4. His next two albums Avenue de Saint-Antoine in 2016 and 100% in 2017 both peaked at Number 3 on the French Albums Chart and were certified platinum. Singles from these albums were also popular, with the singles “Même Tarif” featuring Booba from the album Réglement de Comptes and “Normal” featuring Jul from Capo Dei Capi Vol.1 both reaching the Top 10 on the French Singles Chart. Jul also features on Alonzo's 2019 album Stone along with other artists Dadju, Ninho and Koba Lad. Alonzo has also collaborated with many other artists and featured on singles released by a wide range of people including Amel Bent, Franglish, Naza and Maître Gims. He returned in 2021 with the double mixtape Capo dei Capi - Vol. II & III, reaching Number 3 in France and spawning the Top 10 single “La Seleçao,” featuring Jul and Naps.
