Ayşegül Aldinç is a renowned Turkish singer and actress, born on September 28, 1957, in Istanbul. She comes from a family of journalists and artists, with her father being a sports writer and her mother a painting teacher. Growing up in Cihangir, she attended various schools in the Taksim, Kocamustafapaşa, Feriköy districts before finishing high school at the Sultanahmet Art School. She completed her higher education at the Tatbiki Fine Arts Academy Ceramic Department (now Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts Ceramics Department). Aldinç started her professional career as an artist and later became a music teacher in Istanbul. In 1981, she participated in the Eurovision Song Contest's primary competitions on TRT and qualified to represent Turkey with the Modern Folk Trio. Their song "Dönme Dolap (The carousel)" earned them eighteenth place at the contest held in Dublin. Aldinç then worked for six years as a designer before starting to perform in casinos in 1985. In 1988, Aldinç released her first solo album ...Ve Ayşegül Aldinç with the support of Aysel Gürel, Timur Selçuk, and Barış Manço. Her hit single "Kara Sevda" made her famous in Turkey's music market. She has since released six studio albums and established herself as a prominent figure in Turkish music and acting, including Benden Söylemesi (1991), Alev Alev (1993), Söze Ne Hacet (1996), Sek'iz (2016) and many more. Aldinç has also acted in many theatrical productions, movies, miniseries, and soap operas on various Turkish channels.
