Blaqbonez

Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, is a Nigerian singer and rapper born in Imo on January 29, 1996. From an Igbo tribe, he studied computer engineering in Ife-Ife, Osun State, before turning to a career in music. Attracted to rap as a teenager, he took part in battles and quickly built a reputation noticed by Terry Tha Rapman, who invited him on one of his mixtapes after winning a tournament in 2012. After the release of the Last Time Under and Bad Boy Blaq EPs in 2018, the productions follow one another at an increasing pace with Bad Boy Blaq - Re-Up and Mr. Boombastic in 2019, multiple singles including "Mamiwota" with Oxlade. In 2021, Blaqbonez presents the album Sex Over Love, garnished with several collaborations including a remix of "BBC" with Tiwa Savage. In 2022, its successor Young Preacher features contributions from producer Jae5 and Lojay, Amaarae, Blxckie, Tekno and Takura. The following year, Emeka Must Shine was released on the Chocolate City Music label, with guests including Black Sherif, Victony, Odumodublvck, Zlatan, M24 and Young Jonn, as well as American rapper Ludacris on "Cinderella Girl (Where You Dey)". In 2024, Blaqbonez scored its first international hit with "Louder", a trio with Ayo Maff and Bella Shmurda.
