Boygenius

Boygenius is an indie rock supergroup featuring singer-songwriters Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus. While pursuing solo careers, the three musicians first crossed paths at a festival in California in 2016 and quickly developed a shared passion for music, collaborating on each other's solo projects during the coming years. In 2018, they announced the formation of a new band as well as the release of their self-titled EP, Boygenius, which was recorded in just four days in Los Angeles. The EP received critical acclaim, with its lead single, "Bite the Hand," quickly becoming a fan favourite. Boygenius went on to tour the U.S., continuing to generate momentum even as its three members also released their own recordings as solo artists. In January 2023, Boygenius announced the release of the trio's first full-length LP, The Record. The album's lead single, "$20," reached Number 30 on Billboard's Adult Alternative Airplay chart, while the song "Not Blue Enough" climbed all the way to Number 6. This momentum helped The Record make a commercial splash upon its release in March 2023, debuting at Number 4 on the Billboard 200 and reaching Number 1 in the UK.
