Samia is an American singer-songwriter whose style combines guitar-heavy indie rock with intimate lyrics and pop hooks. Born Samia Najimy Finnerty on December 12, 1996, in Los Angeles, California, she is the daughter of actors Kathy Najimy and Dan Finnerty, both of whom have appeared in several films and series. At the age of 19, she participated in the off-Broadway premiere of the Sarah DeLappe play The Wolves, which received an Obie Award for Best Ensemble in 2017. Later that year, Samia made her musical debut with the single "Welcome to Eden," a sparse track driven by just her voice and a guitar. After delivering a string of singles throughout 2018 and an EP (2019's Ode to Artifice), she released her studio debut The Baby via Grand Jury Music in 2020. A collection of remixes titled The Baby Reimagined followed suit in 2021 as well as Scout, her second extended play. Beginning in 2022, Samia began teasing the release of a second full-length with the singles "Kill Her Freak Out," "Mad at Me," and "Pink Balloons," all of which showcased her growth as a songwriter. Honey, her sophomore effort, appeared in 2023 and earned Samia her first charting entry through its title track, which cracked the Top 40 of Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs chart.
