Bruno & Marrone

Bruno & Marrone are one of Brazil's most popular and enduring sertanejo duos, whose recording career spans two decades with over 25 album releases between 1994 and 2010. The band is comprised of guitarist and singer Vinicius de Miranda (Bruno) and concertina player and vocalist José Ferreira (Marrone). De Miranda had been a solo performer for ten years before being introduced to Ferreira in 1985 by another famous sertanejo duo, Leandro e Leonardo. Ferreira and de Miranda spent almost ten years perfecting their act until they were eventually signed to Warner in 1995. Later that year they released their debut album Bruno e Marrone - Vol. 1 and since then have established themselves as one of Brazil's best-known sertanejo acts. The duo were nominated for a Latin Grammy Award on numerous occasions and in 2002 were successful when the album Acústico ao Vivo won the Best Sertanejo Album category. Although their last studio effort was Juras de Amor, released in 2011, the duo continued touring relentlessly throughout Brazil, issuing numerous live albums such as Pela Porta da Frente (2012), Agora ao Vivo (2014), Clássico (2016) with Chitãozinho & Xororó, Ensaio (2017), La Pelicula (2019), and Studio Bar (2019). In 2021, Bruno & Marrone issued the independent album Exatamente Agora, which featured the Wesley Safadão collaboration "Ultimo Beijo." 2023 found the duo in top form, unveiling the single "Um Sonhador," originally popularized by Leandro & Leonardo in the late 1990s.
