Christian Franke was born on February 15, 1956 in Nuremberg and is a German pop singer who celebrates great success in the 1980s with songs such as "Ich wünsch' dir die Hölle auf Erden" (1981). With an impressive voice that ranges over four and a half octaves, he quickly became a permanent guest in the German charts and TV shows. Further hits such as "Was wäre, wenn" and "Wenn du gehst, stürzt nicht der Himmel ein" cement his status as one of the most popular pop stars of the 1980s. After a longer musical break and health challenges, Christian Franke returns in 2009 with the single "Geh nicht fort (Guardian Angel)" and finds new success. He made another comeback in 2011 with the track "Der Apfelbaum", a collaboration with panpipe virtuoso Edward Simoni. The joint album Leben! reaches the German charts and is praised by critics. In 2024, Christian Franke released his latest album Herzwolkenbruch, which contains emotional ballads and modern arrangements of his greatest hits. The album once again demonstrates the diversity of his musical creativity and his ability to remain relevant even after decades in the pop music industry.
