DC Talk are a Christian hip-hop and rock group formed in 1987 in the city of Lynchburg, Virginia by friends Toby McKeehan, Michael Tait and Kevin Max. Their 1990 release 'Nu Thang' was nominated for a Grammy Award as Best Rock/Contemporary Gospel Album and went to number five on Billboard's Top Christian Albums Chart. Their 1991 album 'd.c.Talk' reached number ten and 'Free at Last' (1993) topped the chart and won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Gospel Album. 'Remixes' (1994) peaked at number 35 on the Christian Albums Chart, 'Jesus Freak' (1996) topped the chart and won another Grammy, 'Welcome to the Freak Show - DC Talk Live in Concert' (1997) reached number three and another Grammy, 'Supernatural' went to number one, 'Intermission: The Greatest Hits' (2000) hit number three and their 2001 EP 'Solo' reached number five and won a fourth Grammy Award. The trio took an extended break after that and have performed only a few times since 2010 with three shows in 2017 and the promise that they would have further reunions in future.
