American country artist Drew Baldridge was born in Patoka, Illinois, in 1992. Like many aspiring singer-songwriters, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 18 with the hopes of making it in the Music City's competitive music scene. After independently releasing the EPs All Good (2013), Crossing Country Lines, Vol. 1 (2014), and Crossing Country Lines, Vol. 2 (2015), Drew Baldridge signed with Cold River and scored the first charting single of his career with "Dance with Ya" (2016), which hit Number 48 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart. Dirt on Us, his studio debut, appeared later that year and reached Number 8 on the country charts in the United States. The album was supported through a promotional tour alongside Lee Brice and Cole Swindell. Over the next few years, Drew Baldridge stayed active via a series of non-album singles such as "Guns & Roses" (2017), "Gentle Man" (2018), "You Brought the Party" (2019) with Christie Lamb, "Before You" (2020), and "Stay at Home Dad" (2021). In 2022, he delivered his highly anticipated sophomore effort, Country Born. "She Does," one of the singles from the album, peaked at Number 97 on the US streaming charts.
