Kelly Jones of the Stereophonics struck up a friendship with Patty Drew and Dwight Baker of the genre-spanning folk-country US band The Wind and the Wave while on tour in 2013 and six years later—after crossing paths again—decided to form a brand new trio with the two musicians. Far from Saints' first batch of songs arrived shortly after, but their first official release was put on hold due to the pandemic. The band's debut self-titled album, which draws from Americana and country-folk as well as rock and soul, was finally able to see the light of day in June 2023, released via Ignition Records.
