Gerardo Daniel Torres Montante, better known as Gera MX, is a Mexican rapper who was born on July 15, 1994, in Monterrey, Nuevo León. He developed a love for Mexican hip-hop culture as a child, with artists like Cartel de Santa, Molotov, and Control Machete serving as his early influences. After signing with the Mexican rap label Mexamafia, he adopted the alias "Gera MXM" and began releasing a string of popular albums under that moniker, beginning with the debut album El Precipicio in 2013. 2014's No Veo, No Siento and 2015's No Me Maten Antes de Hoy followed, with both albums featuring an evolving sound that made room for trap influences and romantic lyrics. Following the release of Los Niños Grandes No Juegan in 2017, Gera MXM left the Mexamafia label and removed the final "M" from his stage name, thus rechristening himself "Gera MX." Under this new name, he continued merging rap with other contemporary sounds on follow-up albums like 2019's El vicio y La Fama, 2020's 444 Paradise: Encerrado No Enterrado, and 2021's Los No Tan Tristes. He also appeared on MC Davo's "No Me Arrepiento," a Top 40 hit on the Mexico Pop Espanol Airplay chart.
