Guildo Horn (born February 15, 1963 in Trier) is a pop singer, presenter and actor from Germany. Born Horst Heinz Köhler, the artist has been celebrating as an ironic, over-the-top pop singer since the early 1990s. From 1992 to 1994, the qualified teacher performed funny pop songs every Sunday in the Cologne club "Luxor". This was followed by his first TV appearances with his backing band Die Orthopädischen Strümpfe in the ZDF hit parade entitled "Ich mag Steffi" ( 1994) and an appearance at the Rock am Ring festival (1996). His debut album Sternstunden der Zärtlichkeit reached number 100 in the German charts in 1995. The single "Ich find Schlager toll" (1996) also reaches number 96 in the German charts. One year later, Guildo Horn releases his album Danke. The longplayer climbs into the German charts at number 3 and reaches gold status. In 1998, Guildo Horn represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest together with the Orthopädische Strümpfen with the song "Guildo hat euch lieb!" Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest. The singer ended up in 7th place (1999) and Der König der Möwen (2002), further albums follow. In the 2000s, Guildo Horn appeared more frequently as a presenter on various TV programs. In 2006, Guildo Horn received the BG Paralympic Media Award for his regular talk show format Guildo und seine Gäste. In this program, he talks to people with intellectual disabilities about current topics of the week. in 2007, the singer is awarded the Bobby, the media prize of the Bundesvereinigung Lebenshilfe for people with intellectual disabilities. Guildo Horn also continues to release albums, including Weihnachtsfestival der Liebe (2012), Schlager Unser (2014) and Strumpf ist Trumpf (2018). Guildo Horn has also been working as a radio presenter since May 2021. He hosts the WDR program Diskothek im WDR.
