Juliane Werding is a German singer and guitarist who came to prominence in 1970 after winning a TV talent contest. In 1972 she had a number one hit with 'Am Tag als Conny Kramer Starb', a German-language version of The Band's 'The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.' More hits followed including 'Wenn Du Denkst Du Denkst, Dann Denkst Du Nur Du Denkst' in 1975. In 1983 she had a hit with a German cover of Mike Oldfield's 'Moonlight Shadow', entitled 'Nacht Voll Schatten'. In 1999 she performed a duet with Howard Jones on the single 'I Remember'. She has released more than 20 albums, making her debut with 'In Tiefer Trauer' in 1972. Her 1986 album 'Sehnsucht ist Unheilbar' spent a year in the German charts. Her last album was the 2008 release, 'Ruhe vor dem Sturm'. In 2009 she announced she was quitting recording music to work as an alternative therapy practitioner and has since written several books on the subject. She has also appeared in a German version of the play 'The Vagina Monologues'.
