Guilherme & Benuto is the next stage of a decade-long family project that began with the trio Villa Baggage. Brothers Guilherme and Haroldo aka Benuto Artioli discovered their love of music at a young age. Guilherme began playing the accordion at the age of nine while Benuto (who now has a degree in classical music and has played with multiple orchestras) began his love affair with the violin when he was eleven. With the encouragement of their father, the pair began to play chorinho, forró, samba and instrumental music in pubs and bars. The pair joined with their sister, Emy, to form the group Villa Baggage and had hits with 'Chorando Na Calçada', 'Localizaçao', 'Abelha Sem Mel' and 'Abrindo O Coraçao'. The trio lasted a decade, disbanding on Emy's departure in 2018. Guilherme and Benuto had, during the course of their time with Villa Baggage, written a number of songs for double acts including 'Pergunta Boba', 'Mel e Limao' and 'Arco íris Preto e Branco'. They decided they would carry on this work themselves and Guilherme & Benuto were born, with the first half of 2019 seeing the release of the single 'Entregador de Flor' and 'Amando, Bebendo e Sofrendo'.
