Heo Young-saeng is a South Korean singer and actor, best known as the lead vocalist of the boy band SS501 and later as the leader of Double S 301. He was born on November 3, 1986, in Gochang County, Jeollabuk-do. Beginning his career as a trainee at SM Entertainment before moving to DSP Media, where he debuted with the group SS501 in June 2005. The group quickly gained popularity with their debut album Warning and the follow-up mini-album Snow Prince. SS501 established a strong fan base and achieved numerous awards and chart-topping hits. They expanded their reach to Japan in 2007, releasing successful singles like "Kokoro." In 2010, Heo Young Saeng and fellow bandmate Kim Kyu-jong left DSP Media to pursue solo careers under B2M Entertainment. His debut EP, Let It Go, was released in May 2011 and topped the Circle Albums Chart. He continued to build his solo career with albums like Overjoyed (2012) and Memories to You (2013), which he promoted through performances in South Korea and Japan. He starred in musicals such as The Three Musketeers and Summer Snow. Upon his return from military service in 2016, he reunited with Kim Kyu-jong and Kim Hyung-jun to form Double S 301. They released the album Eternal 5 and followed it with a Japanese album, Eternal S. Heo Young Saeng continued releasing solo material, such as the EP Moment, which peaked at number 24 on the Korean charts in 2019.
