Jimin

South Korean singer and dancer Park Ji-min (October 13, 1995), known mononymously as Jimin, rose to international fame as a member of K-pop juggernauts BTS. Born in the city of Busan, he showed great interest in dancing from a very young age, first as a hip-hop dancer and later studying contemporary dance at the Busan High School of Arts. After a successful audition for Big Hit Entertainment, he joined the media giant's roster as a trainee and made his debut with BTS in 2013. Through songs like "Lie" (2016), "Serendipity" (2017), and "Filter" (2020), Jimin conquered audiences all over the world and showcased his versatility and wide emotional range as a vocalist. Since 2014, he has also been sporadically issuing a handful of solo singles such as "Christmas Day" and "We Don't Talk Anymore" with Jungkook, as well as "Promise" (2018) and "Christmas Love" (2020). Released in 2022, the track "With You," recorded in collaboration with Wanna One's Ha Sung-woon, was featured in the soundtrack of the South Korean hit TV series Our Blues and peaked at number 15 on the Gaon charts. In 2023, Jimin began teasing his upcoming studio debut through the singles "Set Me Free Pt. 2" and "Like Crazy," the latter of which turned him into the first South Korean solo artist to top the Billboard Hot 100. FACE, his first full-length album, arrived in March of that year and reached Number 1 in South Korea, Japan, and the United States, turning him into the highest-charting Korean artist of all time on the Billboard 200. This success was followed by a feature alongside Jvke, Muni Long, Kodak Black, and NLE Choppa on the track "Angel Pt. 1," released as part of the soundtrack album from the film Fast X. Later that year, Jimin enlisted in the South Korean Army. Muse, his sophomore effort, came out in July 2024 while he completed his mandatory military training. Preceded by the singles "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band" and "Who," Muse peaked at number 2 in South Korea and achieved Top 10 positions in Germany and Japan.
