Joochar

Real name Kouakou Jonathan Charley, Ivorian rapper Joochar was born in Abidjan on November 15, 1990, to a journalist father and a schoolteacher mother. As a child, he discovered his artistic vocation, joining a theater troupe and then a choir. He was only fifteen when he wrote his first lyrics, which he defended in local rap competitions. In 2009, he met another rapper, El Jay, with whom he founded the group Jek Boyz, before joining the group Kiff No Beat, which in just a few years became one of Côte d'Ivoire's rap powerhouses. However, this success didn't stop him from trying his hand at a solo venture back in 2013 with the single "Ne pleure pas". He has several projects to his credit, including JoshFriday in 2021 and Eyes and Intrépide in 2022. His best-known songs include "Là pour moi" in 2016, "Moi aussi" and "Rôkôr " in 2021, as well as "Yeu m'en fou de ça", "C'est toi tu sais" and "Pourquoi tu grongron" in 2022, and "Cuisse de poulet", "La fille d'Abidjan " and "En Fantoya " in 2023.
