Contemporary Christian singer and songwriter Joshua David Wilson was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on November 14, 1983. He’s best-known for two Number 1 Billboard Christian Airplay singles: “Before the Morning” (2010) and “Jesus is Alive” (2012). Wilson began his recording career in 2004 with the independently released album Dragonfly. He followed that up two years later with the EP Shake the Shadow. Wilson signed with with Sparrow Records and released the album Trying to Fit the Ocean in a Cup in 2008. The album’s second single, “Savior, Please” was his first big hit, climbing to Number 7. He followed that up with more hits such as “Sing” and “Before the Morning” (both from the album Life is Not a Snapshot). The 2012 holiday album Noel contained the Number 1 single “Jesus is Alive”. While Wilson continued to release best-selling albums and hit singles, his concert performances became events as he incorporated live-looping techniques, which would allow him to play as many 20 instruments at any given time. He’s received many awards over the years including an ASCAP Award in 2012 for Writer/Artist of the Year. His 2015 album That Was Then, This is Now hit Number 4 in the chart. He followed that album with the Don’t Look Back EP in 2018. In 2020, Wilson released the hit single “Revolutionary”.
