Kamiyado

Formed in 2014 by five university students who worked as staff members for the Tokyo Idol Festival, Kamiyado is an all-girl idol band from Harajuku, Tokyo. Composed of Miki Hashima, Hina Koyama, Mei Hashima, Naho Sekiguchi, and Mika Ichinose, the group made their live debut at the Roppongi Bee-Hive in September 2014, and released Harajuku Hatsu! Kamiyado Desu, their first full-length the following year. In 2016, they partnered with Tower Records and created Kamito, their own label, releasing the singles “Harajuku Sentai! Kamiyado Ranger” and “Kamchatka Adventure,” which peaked at Number 18 and 41 on the Japanese charts, respectively. During the next couple of years, Kamiyado toured and performed at a relentless rate, making appearances at the Tokyo Idol Festival 2017 and @JAM EXPO 2017. Following the departure of Mika Inichose and the release of their second LP, Harajuku Chaku! Kamiyado Desu (2017), they collaborated with karaoke chain Big Echo on the single “Happy Party Night” (2018), which reached Number 35 on the Japanese Singles Chart and delivered “Conversation Fancy” in 2019. Their highly-anticipated third studio full-length, The Life of Idol, saw the light in 2020 and spawned the singles “MAD GIRL” and “Ashita, Mata Kimi ni Aeru,” a sugary J-Pop gem that made it to the Top 200 in the Japanese charts.
