Kiff No Beat

Kiff No Beat is a hip-hop group formed in 2009 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. The group includes members of KNB (Gnahoré Okou Camille aka Black K, N'wolé Brice aka Elow'n and Bassa Zéréhoué Diyilem aka Didi B) and the duo Jekboys (Kouakou Jonathan Charley aka Joochar and Konan Franck Guy Mares aka El Jay). Barely twenty when they met, they breathed new life into Ivorian music with an R'n'B, reggae, dancehall and hip-hop sound. On stage, the group is accompanied by choreographers, resulting in high-flying performances. They made a name for themselves thanks to a televised rap contest, Faya Flow, which they won in 2010. With the money they won, they paid producer Shado to record the 16 tracks that make up their debut album, Cadeau de Noël. A reference to the clashes that took place in 2010 and deprived Ivorians of Christmas. The group wins Revelation of the Year at the Ivorian Music Awards. Kiff No Beat works tirelessly, and to keep fans waiting releases a hip-hop mixtape, Jackson Five, in September 2012, featuring over twenty tracks. A national tour follows, and the group wins Best Rap Group at the Ivorian Music Awards two years running. In 2014, the album Pétards d'Ado, signed to Da Carmen Prod, is released, containing the hits "Tu es dans le pain" and "Samusement", whose video will surpass one million views. The group tours Africa, as well as the United States and Europe, where the rap scene takes an interest in them. March 2017 saw the release of the single "Pourquoi tu DAB", signed to Universal Music Africa. It will be featured on the Bledard Is The New Fresh album in 2019. The album features collaborative tracks with Dadju, Sofiane and Kaaris. It includes the hits "Yaka Dormir" and "Yahh". The members continue their solo careers, reuniting for a few concert dates and recording singles such as "The World Needs a Doctor" in 2020 during the confinement, or "Papa de ça ", in 2021.
