Rapper Kollegah was born on August 3, 1984 in Friedberg, Germany. The artist's real name is Felix Martin Andreas Matthias Blume. His Algerian stepfather inspired his stage name. After making a name for himself in the rap scene via social media, Kollegah releases his first mixtape, Zuhältertape. Selfmade Records signed him that same year. With his first three solo albums, Kollegah made it straight into the charts, increasing his popularity as a rapper. With the 2014 album King, he achieved his first number 1 album in Germany and triple gold. His next four albums Zuhältertape Vol. 4 (2015), Imperator (2016), Monument (2018) and Alphangene II (2019) also made it to the top of the German album charts. In addition to his successful solo albums, Kollegah is also known for his regular collaborations with rapper Farid Bang. The two have released several albums together. With the album Jung, Brutal, Gutaussehend 3 (2017), the two rappers go platinum. However, the award is later revoked because the album is indexed due to controversial lyrics. For the same reason, the two rappers also lose the German music award Echo. The Echo award is then discontinued altogether. Musically, Kollegah achieved a number 1 single in 2017 with the song 'Sturmmaske auf (Intro)'. In 2021, Kollegah released two albums via his own label Alpha Music Empire. The collabo album Natural Born Killas with Asche climbs to number 1 in the German charts. Zuhältertape Vol. 5 reaches number 5 in the charts. After the album Free Spirit (2022), Kollegah achieves another number 1 placement with the 2023 album La Deutsche Vita. The single "Lorbeerkranz" becomes a minor single hit in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. C.B.A. - Cross Border Armageddon - The English Album follows at the end of the year. Kollegah cannot quite match the success of the previous albums. In August 2024, the rapper catapults himself back to the top of the German album charts with Still King. The album also reached number 1 in Switzerland and climbed to number 13 in Austria.
